Mikulov (CZ)/ Vienna (AT) - Czech real estate developer Renfield is starting the development of Smartzone Mikulov. The project is being built just a few kilometers from the Austrian-Czech border and offers A-class halls for companies operating in logistics and production.

On October 12, the laying of the foundation stone of SmartZone Mikulov was sealed with an event directly at the future site of the industrial park. Among the attending guests were Petr Prokš (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the investor - URBANON a.s.), Pavel Konzbul (Diocesan Bishop of Brno), Milan Polášek (Director of the Moravia Region of the general contractor - PORR a.s.), Jitka Sobotková (Mayor of Mikulov) and Ivo Hrdlička (Deputy Mayor of Mikulov), as well as representatives of various real estate advisory companies from the region. As exclusively commissioned brokers for the project within Austria, representatives of Modesta Real Estate were also in attendance at the event. 

Felix Lanzerstorfer (Associate Industrial & Logistics at Modesta Real Estate) explains why this project is of great importance for the Austrian market: 

"Low vacancy rates and high pre-valuation rates on the Austrian industrial and logistics real estate market make it difficult for companies to find suitable and modern warehouse spaces in A-class quality. Developments close to the border, such as SmartZone Mikulov, are therefore an excellent opportunity to obtain such spaces in a timely manner."

The SmartZone Mikulov will combine modern halls and comfortable A-class offices on a total property area of 16,000 sqm. The warehouse units can be rented starting from a size of 1,000 sqm and are expected to be available from the second quarter of 2024. The town of Mikulov is located just 2 km south of the Drasenhofen border crossing, in the immediate vicinity of the A5 freeway (Austria) and the E461, and offers excellent connections to Vienna, Brno, Prague and Bratislava.
